2026 MG Hector Launched in India at Rs11.99 Lakh

MG Motor India has launched the 2026 Hector facelift in India with minor design changes, and a revised interior. The talking point here is the pricing though, the  Hector is priced at ₹11.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the petrol manual variant, which is over ₹2 lakh lower than the outgoing model. Prices for the Hector Plus seven-seat version start at ₹17.29 lakh, while pricing for the six-seat configuration has not yet been announced.

The facelift brings subtle exterior updates while retaining the Hector’s existing proportions and overall design. Changes include a revised front grille with a honeycomb pattern, a lightly reworked front bumper and new 18-inch alloy wheels. MG has also added two new exterior colours — Celadon Blue and Pearl White — expanding the total colour options to five. The split headlamp layout and LED tail-lamps continue unchanged.

Interior updates focus on trim and technology. The five-seat Hector now gets a dual-tone Ice Grey cabin, while the Hector Plus six- and seven-seat variants feature a tan interior theme. The SUV continues with its 14-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen, now updated with i-Swipe gesture control, allowing multi-finger inputs for operating functions such as climate control and media.

The feature list remains largely unchanged and includes a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, PM 2.5 air filtration and a 360-degree camera.

The 2026 Hector continues with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 143hp and 250Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. A diesel powertrain, based on the 2.0-litre engine, is expected to be introduced at a later stage.

The MG Hector facelift competes in the mid-size SUV segment against models such as the Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV700, Jeep Compass and Hyundai Alcazar, where pricing and feature content remain key differentiators
