The Magnite makes a strong first impression and the value proposition is real — but spending time with it reveals where the money was saved.
Panel gaps and body feel are noticeably thinner than what you get from Tata or Maruti at similar price points. Rear AC vents are missing in the lower variants, which is a daily inconvenience in Indian summers rather than a minor spec sheet detail. Base variants also skimp on safety features that have become fairly standard elsewhere in this segment.
The 1.0-litre turbo CVT is probably the highlight. It pulls well for its size and the gearbox does not fight the engine — for city driving especially, it feels more relaxed than the numbers suggest.
Reliability over distance has not been a major concern. Owners crossing 50,000 km have not reported patterns of serious mechanical trouble, which matters more than early impressions for anyone planning to keep the car long term.
Where it genuinely hurts is after you buy. Nissan's service network is thin compared to Maruti or Hyundai, so where you live significantly affects how convenient ownership actually is. And when the time comes to sell, the resale numbers are weaker than what a Nexon or Brezza would return — that gap is real and worth factoring into the total cost before signing.
Good car for the price. Just go in knowing the full picture.
